Start with the decision
Before describing a deliverable, write down the decision you want someone to make. A launch film, a landing page and a founder post have different jobs. Giving each asset a specific purpose helps the team choose what belongs.
Choose a real audience
“Everyone” is not a workable audience. Describe the people you need to reach, what they already know and what might make them hesitate. Existing customer conversations are often more useful than a page of demographic assumptions.
Make the constraints visible
Share the budget range, deadline, available assets, technical requirements and approval process early. Constraints can sharpen an idea when the creative team understands them before production.
Agree what finished means
List the deliverables, formats and review rounds. Decide who approves the work and which questions each review should answer. This turns feedback into a useful conversation about the brief.
